Israeli policy towards Gaza with ILAN PAPPÉ and SHIR HEVER

ILAN PAPPÉ and SHIR HEVER - play conference

Annotation The Great March of Return in Gaza has been a challenge for the Israeli security institutions. Although over 250 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces, the Israeli government's plan to invade the Gaza Strip was foiled because of internal divisions between the senior officers and populist politicians. The divisions have exposed that the Israeli military is undergoing a crisis of discipline, with soldiers disobeying orders and not being punished by their officers. This has created an opportunity for an effective nonviolent resistance by Palestinian groups, which has made some important achievements in the recent months.
